Pico Temp Sensor "PST"
Choose between stainless steel or Incoloy to suit your application environment! Introducing the PicoTemp sensor.
The "PST" is a metal tube temperature sensor that contains an optical fiber with a positive excess length within a metal tube. Its purpose is to prevent excessive tension on the optical fiber caused by thermal expansion of the metal tube when the sensor is used in high-temperature environments, which can lead to increased transmission loss or disconnection. The excess length ratio is designed appropriately considering the temperature range to be measured, the type of metal tube, and installation conditions. Currently, sensors for measuring temperatures from -196°C to +500°C are being developed. 【Pico Sensor Features】 ■ The optical fiber is contained within a thin, long metal tube made of high-strength material, allowing for mechanical strength due to the presence of gaps. ■ The adoption of a tubular structure achieves a lightweight and highly rigid design. ■ Considering the durability against the application environment and the material of the object being measured, it is possible to select suitable protective structural materials. ■ By appropriately combining the optical fiber and the metal tube, it is possible to accurately capture the deformation that needs to be measured. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
